Fiifi Banson disclosed the poaching fee during an interview with Doctor Kay on Accra FM’s ‘Nkran Kwanso’ drive time show yesterday.

According to him, Despite poached him with a whopping 30 million Cedis (old currency) which today is GH¢3,000 (new currency).

According to Kwasiaboagyelive.com, Fiifi Banson said the money he received from Despite at that time was good enough to build a 4-bedroom house.

“The money from Peace FM was good. I remember that at that time, that was in 1999…they gave me 30 million cedis, now GH¢3,000″.

“That 30 million built a four-bedroom house. In fact, 23 to 24 million cedis built a four-bedroom house, so, that should tell you what 30 million was at that time,” he said.

Fiifi Banson indicated that when Peace FM was established, he was the first person to be poached by Osei Kwame Despite.

Mr Banson hosted the drive time show on Peace FM for 15 years before moving to Kasapa FM.

He hosted Kasapa FM’s morning show ‘Anopa Kasapa’ for 3 years before going off radio.

Fiifi Banson started his radio career from Radio Gold before joining Peace FM.

He is known for his vast knowledge in sports and music as well as his sense of humor and dexterity on radio.
