The second edition of the Africa Media Ad Sales Summit is due to take place in Accra-Ghana with a focus on providing a platform for the discussion on how media platforms can make a profit from their content.
The summit will provide cutting edge strategies to support current media sales professionals as well as bring seasoned media platforms to the level where they increase profit on content.
This year, speaking at the summit will be Dr Ing Kenneth Ashigbey – CEO, Ghana Chamber of Telecommunication as the Special Guest of Honour on the theme: “WINNING WITH THE MEDIA DATA MISSION’’.
AFRIMASS 2020 will be held on Friday November 20th at the MultiChoice – DSTV office, Accra, from 10:00am to 5pm.
The summit will host very experienced and astute industry speakers .
Below are profiles of these speakers:
DR. ING. KENNETH ASHIGBEY
Dr. Ing. Ken Ashigbey is the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Telecommunications Chamber.
Prior to his appointment, he was Managing Director of Graphic Communications Group Ltd. Before then he was the Chief Operating Officer for Multi TV, General Manager of Joy FM as well as the Chief Technology Officer of the group at different times. In between his time at Multimedia, he was also Managing Director of Optimum Media Prime, a media independent and marketing company. He left Fanel Ltd, a building services engineering company as a Senior Projects Engineer.
He holds a Doctorate degree in Business Administration at the Swiss Management Centre. He also has an MBA from the Leicester University (UK) and a BSc in Electrical/Electronic Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. He had his secondary education at St. Augustine’s College.
He is the convener of the Media Coalition Against Galamsey and an advocate of Media Freedom and campaigner against attacks on journalists and media workers in Ghana.

CECIL SUNKWA-MILLS
Cecil Sunkwa-Mills is a business, strategy, marketing and management specialist by training and experience. He has a vast experience in business development, service quality, marketing and operations management in the retail banking, private and broadcast sectors.
Cecil joined Multichoice Ghana as the Sales and Marketing Manager in 1998 from the Ghana Red Cross Society where he was the Resource Development Manager responsible for youth and membership development, income generation and fund raising for 7 years.
He then was appointed Head, Operations and Customer Service till 2001. Whilst here he reorganized the Call Center and Front counter to bring service levels up to International levels. He then moved into banking with Societe’ General, Ghana to set up the Service Quality Department as Head.
The role was to lead the migration of the Banks processes and procedures on all its services towards the alignment of the services to the ISO standards.
He was appointed Head of the Retail Banking Division with oversight of 32 branches nationwide after a year. It was during this period the introduction of Private and Personal Banking concept was launched in the Bank under his arm.
He then led another newly created Promotion & Distribution Division in September 2004 with responsibility for new product development like online and call center banking, remittances, and cards, marketing and sales after 24 months of Retail Banking. This was to ensure the development of new products for the rejuvenated Retail Banking Division. It was during this period the Bank launched its first VISA card services which has been sustained all over the country.
In 2007, he rejoined to Multichoice Africa, with the responsibility of the business development in 5 Francophone and 2 Anglophone Multichoice agent countries in West Africa.
In 2010, Cecil moved to become the General Manager, of Multichoice Ghana and in 2013 Managing Director for GOtv Ghana Limited. He also serves as a Director for Multichoice Ghana till date.
He has a vast previous entrepreneur experience in poultry farming, event organization, rental of audio equipment, and recruitment consulting at different stages of his career.
Cecil holds an Executive MBA in Marketing from the University of Ghana and is a chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana.
He attended Mfantsipim Secondary and Achimota Secondary Schools and also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Zoology with Botany from the University of Ghana, Legon. He has also completed the Naspers & Havard Master Class in e-Commerce as well as the Media Industry Programme for Middle Managers, the Euro Money Banking Strategy Master Class and attended many Leadership Programmes.
He loves dogs, cycling and watching soccer and is married to Janet and they have two sons.
BRIGHT LADZEKPO
Bright Ladzekpo is Managing Director and CEO of PHD Media Ghana and founder of The Master class Accra® and Science Meets Marketing®.
He is a marketing communications professional with 22 years of experience in driving transformational growth and market leadership for businesses and brands in the Telecommunications, and Consumer Packaged Goods industries in Africa.
Bright is a pioneer at heart, has a challenger mind-set, and is an industry thought leader who is passionate about trend-spotting, path-finding and innovating for effective brand-building. He has consistently championed a data-driven approach, the application of Marketing Science principles to marketing communications, and spoken about the implications of Artificial Intelligence for marketing, brands and businesses in Africa.
Bright trained as a biochemist at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology but followed his natural talent into the advertising fraternity to pursue a career and his life’s work.
He serves on the IAA’s Africa Rising events committee, the Executive Council of the Advertising Association of Ghana and the Foods Advertising Regulation Committee of the FDA in Ghana.
Bright lives in Accra with his wife Caroline, an OBGYN specialist, and their children.
MAWULI OCLOO
Mawuli Ocloo is the Founder & Chief Sales Partner at Salesmark Services Ltd, a sales consulting & training, customer experience, and market research firm, as well as the sales representative of CANAL+ Advertising NG the exclusive sales house for all advertising on ROK, ROK2 and ROKGH channels in Ghana.
Mawuli has over 25 years sales and marketing management experience having worked in FMCG, media, financial services, industrial products and professional services industries. As a sales, marketing and media consultant, he has provided sales training and consulting solutions for a number of radio and television stations, newspaper and online companies in Ghana as well as acting as the exclusive media sales representation for Habari Media to sell BBC Online, Facebook and Yahoo advertising in Ghana. Apart from media, Mawuli has also worked with a wide range of local and multinational clients in the banking, pensions, insurance, FMCG, agri-business, services industries as well as multilateral donor agencies and many others.
Prior to starting his consulting firm in 2001, he was the pioneering Ag. General Manager for Joy FM, Head of Joy Marketing Services, the Sales Division of Multimedia Group as well as Business Development Executive of Joy FM. He was responsible for developing the initial strategic sales, marketing and brand plans for the Multimedia Group properties as well as the sales systems/procedures, and radio promotional strategies that established Joy FM, Luv FM and Adom FMs as market leaders in the media industry.
He holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK. He also has BA Degree in French and Spanish from the University of Ghana, Legon. He had his first three years of his secondary education at Mawuli School and four years at Achimota School.
FRANCIS DOKU
Francis Doku joined Media General as GM for MG Digital Limited in August 2017 with a mandate to boldly lead and transform the operations into Ghana’s leading digital business —providing a comprehensive digital communications solutions to Media General and corporations across Africa.
A consummate professional, Francis’ experience spans across the communications and media value chain — from Journalism, Public Relations, Advertising, Media Planning and Digital Marketing. As a media planning and advertising executive, he has worked with global blue-chip media and communications companies such as MediaCom (Vizeum) and Carat. Between July 2009 and July 2014 he served as General Manager of Adams Media Limited (Carat Ghana).
In 2014, he was appointed the Group CEO of the Rave Group, a multi specialized communications Services Company. A role he held until 2016 when he established and managed Maestro Africa Group Ltd a full scope communications company as CEO.
He is a well sought after radio and television pundit on tourism & travel, culture, entertainments and the creative arts. He is an avid writer and a columnist of the Graphic Showbiz.
His interests include travel, reading and watching football. Francis holds a BSc in Business Administration (Banking & Finance) and an Executive MBA (marketing) from the University of Ghana (UGBS), Legon. He is married with children.
ROLAND OFORI LARBI
The speaker started his career as an Electrical and Electronics Engineer and later transitioned to strategy and then brand management.
He is a distinguished marketing professional with over ten years of experience across different markets and multiple brands.
He currently oversees the Heineken Brands portfolio at Diageo Ghana in the capacity as Marketing Manager.
His purpose is to create an enabling environment for people to succeed with his work and writings.
He is a published author passionate about people and an avid reader and writer. Roland runs a blog (#rolandoforispeaks) and is the host of The Corporate Nosy Guy, an online educational series that seeks to unpack secrets of success in the corporate world from the best brains in the industry.
