CMG, parent company of Adehye99.1FM, Kumasi 104.1FM, and other media houses in Accra, organised an event in Kumasi on Wednesday April 12, where the widows were provided with food items such as bags of rice, eggs, non-alcoholic beverages, sugar, milk, and sardines among others worth GHS 10,000.

Addressing the gathering, family counsellor Albert Krampah charged the widows to take an optimistic approach to life and be hopeful “in their maker because the good Lord has not forsaken them though they might be living lonely lives”.

Manager for Adehye99.1FM and Kumasi104.1FM, Rev Alex Ofei, appealed to the widows to diligently cater for the children “that God has blessed them with, irrespective of the circumstances they might be going through”.

He challenged them to ensure their children receive good education since it is the best legacy they can give to their offspring.

Madam Felicia Asirifi Adutwumwaah Acheampong, a 94-year-old widow, was very grateful that the firm embarked on such a gesture.

Ms Acheampong, a victim of mild stroke whose husband died in her arms years ago with seven children in her care, narrated her agony to Adehye FM’s Owoahene Addai Mununkum.

She narrated how she has been robbed of the “sweet times” she shared with her husband but encouraged other widows to be strong in order to see to the proper training and upkeep of kids they have to cater for.

She, on behalf of the other widows, thanked CMG for the kind gesture.
