Barely six months after her appointment as the Chief Operations Officer of TV Africa, Shirley Frimpong Manso has resigned from her post.
Reports reaching citinewsroom.com indicate that the movie producer quit together with other senior managers of the station.
According to the source, the resignation of the managers is borne out of frustration from complaints by workers who have not been paid for a couple of months.
Shirley was appointed to her post to help place the station in a better position in the competitive media market.
This was after TV Africa had undergone re-branding of its programmes, style and content.
About two years ago, a private financial holding company, the Ideal Groupe, acquired a majority share in TV Africa after 13 years of operation from the old Kwaw Ansah management.
The re-branding process brought on board Ghanaian politician and journalist, Obuobia Darko Opoku, actress Nikki Samonas and Khadijat El- Alawa as morning show hosts.
Actor Ekow Blankson until recently was the Managing Director of the station.
Shirley, who has a media background has over 30 films to her credit.
Her company, Sparrow Productions, was once the franchise holder of the Miss Ghana beauty Pageant.
