Many Ghanaians were disappointed when CAF released the list of referees for AFCON 2019. Because the entire list, didn’t feature any referee from Ghana. However, the Ghanaian media can smile, as CAF has appointed Mr Frederick Acheampong (Achie) to the position of Assistant General Coordinator- in charge of Group C, AFCON 19. This appointment, has lightened the relevance of Ghana media, at the circles of the upcoming AFCON tournament in Egypt.
Achie, featured prominently as General Match Coordinator and Assistant General Match Coordinator, in the just ended CAF Confederations Cup, and yet to be completed CAF Champions League tournaments respectively. And it is relevant to note, that He performed excellently, and CAF saw the need to upgrade his status.
Achie in his youthful age, is the CEO of Obuasi cited Ashgold SC and a Sports analyst of Kessben Sports (The leading sports show in Ghana). These are the result of capacity building and commitment to handed opportunities.
