Enterprising female newscaster, Pomaa Kyekyeku of Accra based Kasapa FM has been adjudged Radio Newscaster of the year (Local Language) at the 2019 National Communication Awards held at the Ecobank Head Office, Ridge Accra.
She beat off stiff competition from some of Ghana’s biggest names including Afia Pokua, Obidihyie Kweku Atiemo, Akosua Ago Aboagye and Bonohene Baffour Awuah.
Born Boadum Irene, Pomaa Kyekyeku is also the host of Kasapa Apomuden (a health show) Kasapa102.5Fm.
The promising talent has never given up on her dream to positively impact lives.
“My aim is to impact the lives of others with what I do and to also put smiles on the faces of those who look up to me in my smallest possible way. I also believe that a journey of a thousand miles begins with a step so, with all I have achieved so far in my field, I think I’m just warming up for greater heights,” Pomaa Kyekyeku stated
The awards night held on Saturday, November 9, 2019, saw other notable media personalities crowned winners.
The awards scheme, according to the organizers serves as a national platform for recognizing the great works and impact of communication practitioners in Ghana.
It also serves as a springboard for many who aspire to reach higher heights with their works, efforts and contribution in the media and communications industry in Africa and Ghana in particular.
