Accra-based Angel 102.9FM, a subsidiary of the Angel Broadcasting Network, owned by business mogul Dr. Kwaku Oteng has been officially launched.
The occasion was also used to unveil new additions the station has made to its on-air personnel prior to the launch.
A ceremony to formally open its doors to the business world for advertisements was held in the studios of the Lapaz-based stations this morning.
Attended by close associates, media owners and some top radio industry players, management of ABN including Chief Executive Officer, Samuel Kofi Acheampong and Chief Operation Officer, Kwame Adinkrah also used the opportunity to unveil some of the names it’s managed to acquire for the roll out.
The event was moderated by the former host of Adom FM Morning show and now the host of the station’s flagship morning show – Anopa Bofoo, Captain Smart whom this website had long ago said he was joining.
As already reported, former Adom FM news anchor and CEO of Kofi TV, Kofi Adomah Nwawani (affectionately known as Nana Nkratuohene I) , joins Angel news team as the Director of news and current affairs at the station.
Kasiebohene Mununkumba Appiah Kasapa also joins the already news team which boast of former Peace FM news anchor ‘Efiewura’ Kwadwo Dickson, Piesie Kyenkyenhene (formerly of Hello FM- Kumasi) and Akua Adepa Papabi (formerly of Abusua FM-Kumasi).
Multimedia reporter, Mubarak Yakubu has also joined the Angel team.
The station has promised an exciting delivery as it officially begins real programming today Monday, June 1, 2020.
Leading its morning show charge is Captain ‘Kwadwo’ Smart – who for years has become one of the Capitals biggest voice on morning radio – and would look to create a big following at the Lapaz-based station.
Other presenters who have joined include DJ Willie and Papa Shamo, all formerly of Adom FM, we’re told would host the late afternoon drive time show dubbed ‘Bumper to Bumper‘ . DJ Willie will also assume the position of the Acting Programmes Manager of Angel FM.
Also joining is former Top FM and Rainbow Radio entertainment show host, Prince Kwesi Dadzie popularly known as Mr. Handsome, who joins both Angel FM and Angel TV as the host of ‘Angel Entertainment’
As already reported, Stacy Amoateng also joins the Angel Broadcasting Network as the General Manager of Angel TV.
Also joining is the former co-host of Adom TV’s Badwam Nana Yaa Brefo whom we are learning she will be the main anchor on Angel TV’s morning show. This website can also state, Nana Yaa Brefo is now the Head of News and Current Affairs at Angel TV.
Also joined is former Peace FM, Multimedia and Atinka FM employee, Jerry Tsatro Mordy, who is part of a what the station says is a crack news team. Mordy is expected to bring his years of experience to bear as the station seeks to build a credible online platform, too. He is being supported by a host of other relatively known names.
Already in the Angel FM team is the former Adom FM’s presenter, Ohemaa Woyeje will continue to host Angel mid morning show, M’Adwuma Nie. She assumes the position as the Manager In-Charge of Estates and Logistics at the station.
Former Atinka FM sports presenter, Saddick Adams Sports Obama will also continue as host and head of sports at the Lapaz-based station.Pundits; Kofi Owusu Jerry, Akwasi Korang Oppong (OP), Isaac Ansah Apagya, Abraham Nathaniel Obeng are all with the sports team.
Already joined is Prophet Johnson Adu-Boahen of Angel Live Worship dubbed Ogyee Mmree.
The grand launch saw hosts of gospel artistes like Brother Sammy, Obaapa Christy, Patience Nyarko and Francis Amo perform at the event. Prophet Amoako Attah was also the officiating minister for today’s event.
