Multi-talented sports pundit Bismark Oppong Korang (affectionately known as OP) has left Angel FM Sports after 11 months with the Accra based radio station , Mediafillasgh.com can authoritatively state.
Sports broadcast journalist announced his exit from the Angel Broadcasting Network (ABN) on his social media platform Thursday afternoon:
A CHAPTER COMES TO A CLOSE
Barely eleven months ago, a day after my late father (may his soul rest in peace) had been laid to rest, I would skip the Thanksgiving ceremony after his burial, and with alacrity and enthusiasm, travel to Accra, to begin a new adventure. I had resigned from the Ghana Education Service, with which I was employed as a management tutor at Odomaseman Senior High School.
After several years of working in Sunyani, I wanted a change of environment, I wanted to challenge myself, I wanted the opportunity to test myself in a different environment. Thankfully, I had the opportunity to work with one of the biggest media organizations in the country, Angel Broadcasting Network, specifically, Angel FM, Accra.
It’s been eleven fantastic months of learning, fraternalism, and discovery. During this short stint with ABN, I’ve had the privilege of working with some of the very finest in the media industry.
While I do not want to individualize my acknowledgements, I cannot stop short of extending profound gratitude to the President and founder of ABN, Dr. Kwaku Oteng, an admirable man of unrivaled humility and generosity, the C.E.O of ABN, Samuel Bronzy Teflon, the General manager of Angel FM, Accra, Kwadwo Dickson, and head of Sports, Angel FM, Accra, Saddick Adams (Sports Obama).
I have resolved to resign from ABN, and Angel FM, Accra, to pursue other personal interests.I have made a lot of unpopular decisions in my life, but what I’ve learnt throughout all those decisions is that it’s not the popularity or otherwise of the decision which matters, but the propriety! While admitting that this decision to leave Angel FM, Accra, may come as an utterly unexpected, befuddling development, I’m convinced that it is the best for my future at this very juncture. I extend my appreciation to the entire Angel FM staff, most especially the sports crew, and wish them the very best of luck!
I’m convinced that ABN and Angel FM, Accra, will continue to thrive! I also extend profound appreciation to all listeners of floodlights sports who staunchly supported the floodlights sports show while I was with the team; please continue to listen to the show even as I depart! In due course, my next destination will be communicated to all and sundry via this same forum!God bless ABN, God bless Angel FM, Accra, God bless us all!
Although OP however did not speak on his decision as to reasons why he left the media group, he only said he will soon update his cherished fans on his next move.
Congrats OP!
