Revered radio presenter and Programmes Manager for EIB Network’s Live FM Antoine Mensah has reportedly exited the station, after his Eleven-years stint with the platform.
Antoine has been with the 91.9 frequency since the then Vibe FM, until its acquisition by the EIB Network, which later rebranded the station into Live FM.
The station served as the youth platform for the network and carried the tagline ‘your music playstation’.
Live FM has been in the news lately after the frequency was bought by an unknown individual or organization over financial difficulties.
Even though the station has lost its frequency, it would be going online as LiveXtra.
Announcing his exit via his Instagram account, Antoine wrote “it’s been an incredible 11-year journey for me from Vibe to LiveFM”
He went on “although he wouldn’t disclose his next destination, Antoine states he is excited to be one of the many curators and contributors to EIB’s new digital offering, LiveXtra, a streaming platform dedicated to Ghana’s vibrant music culture via music, podcasts & live radio.”
“Today’s show happened to be my last on the dial 91.9FM. It’s been an incredible 11-year journey for me from Vibe to LiveFM and I feel very blessed to have been part of the history of a station that’s contributed so much to Ghanaian music and urban youth culture in the last 25 yrs. From it’s programming to its events, 91.9FM has been at the forefront of empowering creatives, pushing the artists & their music.”
He added “to be amongst the many influential voices that blessed the airwaves of 91.9FM is something I’ll forever be grateful for. S/O Mike Cooke, Lee Longdon , George Brun, Bola Ray, and all the colleagues I’ve worked with both past and present. To all the listeners who’ve been locked-in consistently throughout this last decade man THANK YOU.”
Moving forward, “I’m excited to be one of the many curators and contributors to EIB’s new digital offering – LiveXtra A streaming platform dedicated to Ghana’s vibrant music culture via music, podcasts & live radio. I also look forward to being back on air soon,” he ended.
We wish Antoine all the best.
