Radio Personality with Starr FM, Caleb Nii Boye has bagged the most Influential Youth Radio Personality award at the maiden edition of the Ghana Influential Youth Awards Festival.
The event, which took place on Friday, July 9 in Accra was organized by CrossMark Marketing.
Speaking at the event, the award-winning radio personality expressed his appreciation to Mr Nathan Kwabena Anokye Adisi, popularly known as Bola Ray, for giving him the opportunity since the inception of his radio career at Starr 103.5 FM, a subsidiary of the EIB Network.
“When I began my career, Bola Ray gave me the opportunity to work for him and I got better in my line of work.”
“For six months, I was a production assistant and then I became a full-time producer after 12 months, producing five shows on Starr FM,” he recounted.
Currently, Caleb hosts an entertainment show, ‘ShowBizonStarr’ on the Accra-based urban and lifestyle radio station and is currently a lead producer.
He also produces shows like StarrDrive, TheZone and is also an Academy member at the 3 Music Awards and Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
Caleb won the best student radio host of the year during the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) Eminence Awards in 2016, the most influential student in radio presenting at the Ghana Tertiary awards in 2017, and student actor of the year student entertainment personality of the year at the GIJ Eminence Awards in 2018.

Born on the 11th of October to Isaac Lartey Boye and the late Gertrude Amorkor Amaah. So far, his specific age is not known as he prefers to keep it private.

He attended Accra Academy and currently serves as the President of his year group. After Accra Academy, he proceeded to the Ghana Institute of Journalism.
Career
The renowned radio personality commenced his radio journey on Radio GIJ as host of WeekendTrain, which was the most talked about and sought-after show on campus during his time as a student at the Ghana Institute of Journalism.
Due to his masterclass on the show, he won the Best Radio Presenter at the 2017 edition of the GHANA TERTIARY AWARDS.
He started working with StarrFM as a production assistant on its Saturday Entertainment Show, Morning Zoo and after 6 months, he was made a full-time producer of the same show.
Since he is known to be an intelligent person, two more shows were added to the number of shows he produces.
In 2018, he was made producer of the mid-morning show hosted by veteran broadcaster Kofi Okyere Darko.
Caleb is now the lead producer for StarrFM flagship shows StarrDrive and its mid-morning show, TheZone which was hosted by Cookie-Tee. He also co-produces the stations flagship show StarrChat which was once hosted by Bola Ray but now Nana Aba Anamoah and also host of the entertainment program ‘Showbiz On Star’.
He was once the Host of LIVE FMs Entertainment Show ShowBizLive before it was released to its new owners.
Aside from his regular radio duties, he is also an actor and he represented Ghana at the Next Movie Star reality show in 2013.
He has featured in several movies and some of these movies are Love or Something Like That, V-Republic, Grey Dawn, Before Noon, and Shampaign.
He was introduced to the movie scene at an early stage as his first stage performance came at the age of fourteen (14) at the National Theatre during an Emancipation Day program organized by the government of Ghana.
Due to his qualities, he received words of encouragement from prominent people in the industry like the late Efo Kodjo Mawugde the director of the National Theatre, and also Mr. David Dontoh.
Actors like Samuel Jackson, David Dontoh, Majid Michel, Adjetey Annan, are the few actors he looks up to.
Caleb loves sports especially football and he was on record in his school to be the first primary two students to buy sports-related newspapers and also to analyze sports issues with his teachers at that early stage.
Host of ShowBiz on Starr and Executive producer on Starr103.5FM has been selected as a member of the decision-making body of the 3 Music Awards Caleb since 2018 has been serving on the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Academy.
Caleb also hosted Ghana Tertiary Awards last year, National Communications awards last year, and Communication Students Awards this year.

He was in the news in 2018 when the whole nation shared nice words about him after he helped in saving young actor Strika of Beasts of No Nation fame from the streets. This was after Strika became a street beggar, however, the singular act of Caleb ensured that his life changed for the better.
He has been in the midst of some controversies as he headlines in January 2021 after he disclosed on GH One TV’s ‘Duvet’ show that he’s the best kisser in Ghana.
