Ghana’s premier television network, GTV (Ghana Television), has taken a very big leap with a facelift of their morning show on screen.
The “Breakfast Show” on Friday, July 30, 2021 announced renowned cum seasoned Media Personality Kafui Dey, along with 2 seasoned TV Personalities, Valerie Danso and Thelma Tackie as new hosts of Ghana’s longest serving morning show on TV.
Kafui Dey is an Award-winning Broadcaster, former quiz show host of the programme “Who Wants To Be Rich?” on GTV, Metro TV and Joy Prime. Kafui is a former Morning Show host on GHOne TV and Starr 103.5FM. He is also a former political Talk Show host on Diasporan Network Television. He is a Communications Consultant and Lecturer at the Ghana Institute of Journalism. He has MA in Journalism.
Valerie Danso is a versatile broadcast presenter journalist/newscaster with GTV and GBC News who has risen through the ranks to become a Senior Editor. She is a voice over artiste, news bulletin presenter and currently the host of “Showbiz”, an Art Television programme on GBC News.
Thelma Tackie is a Broadcast journalist at the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation. She started work with the State Broadcaster as a 19 year old student on attachment and has since been with the Corporation.
The announcement which came as a big surprise to viewers also outdoored a plush ultra-modern studio set up and equipment by GTV to aid effective dissemination of information across varied spheres.
The Team has also secured modern technology in live broadcast via their online platforms across social media with up-to-the-minute personnel taking on different tasks to match up new media.
The new GTV “Breakfast Show” comes with 4 main segments — “The Newspaper Review”, “Social Media Eye”, “Sports” and “Your World”.
All these will be run with finely curated content hosted by all 3 from 6:00am to 9:00am every weekday (Monday to Friday). The segments are well designed to discuss issues pertaining to politics, socio-economic, religious, arts, culture and a plethora of meaningful circles.
Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, which remains the country’s giant network currently boasts of 7 operating TV Channels and at least 33 Radio frequencies with 18 owned Radio Stations across nationwide.
The giant media network creeps beyond English broadcast and has spread its tentacles to cover at least 25 Ghanaian (local) languages on their respective networks nationwide.
“Breakfast Show” in its inception had Veterans, Beatrice Aidoo, Earl Ankrah, Akushika Acquaye, Kate Addo and Gifty Anti as maiden hosts, and then went through different seasoned personalities till Kafui, Thelma and Valerie have taken up the baton now.
