The one-week observation rite of the late popular broadcast sports journalist George Akwasi Amankwah Marfo famously known on radio as ‘Spanky’ or’ Spanky Tee’ will be held at his hometown, Akim Swedru in the Eastern Region.
The one-week celebration which is slated for the Friday October 15, 2021 is expected to see colleagues, radio and TV personalities.
The ceremony will be observed at the St. Andrew Catholic Church, Akim Swedru from 6am then to Sekunde near Bosome FM, Akim Swedru.
Ghanaians from all walks of life are also expected to make their way to the venue to mourn the late presenter who became a household name in the sports fraternity.
The popular radio presenter passed on Friday, October 1, 2021.
He was 53.
A teacher by profession, the seasoned sports host and commentator worked with Radio Biyak, Peace FM, Kapital Radio, Luv FM, Hello FM, Breeze FM, Time FM (Obuasi), Safoa TV and until his death he was with Bosome FM (Akim Swedru).
