Our feature for this week is been centered on Kumasi based sports journalist, Ebenezer Kyere popularly known in showbiz as King Eben and otherwise known as The Boss Player, who has been with Silver FM since July 2016, but a silent determination has already seen him achieve a lot.
The Boss Player as he is affectionately called by his fans, won last week’s edition of the Poll of the week as the best foreign sports news presenter in the Ashanti Region. The Poll of the week is a weekly poll organised by MediafillasGH and GHmediafillas.blogspot.com with the aim of projecting radio and television personalities on social media. Sports fans on social media have the chance to vote for their favourite media personalities on social media.
King Eben started his radio journey with Berekum based Shalom FM before moving to Kumasi based Solid FM and later joined Kencity Media outfit, Ashh FM.
To the dismay of the sports fratenity as well as sports fans in the Ashanti region, King Eben after a long stay and brilliant achievements with Ashh FM, left the station in July 2016 and switched camp to Bantama based outfit, Silver 98.3FM owned by Bantamahene, Nana Baffour Amankwatia VI (known in Private life as Sylvester Owusu Asare), a former Chief Executive Officer of Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
King Eben is the head and host of Silver Sports. The Boss Player comes on your airwaves with the morning sports news, which airs between 6:45am and 7:30 am, from Monday to Friday. The afternoon sports dubbed “Sports Center”, also hosted by King Eben, also hits the airwaves from 12:30pm to 3:00pm, from Monday to Friday and then climaxes the week with the hottest sports programme, christened ‘Silver Sports Super Saturday’, aired from 7am to 10am.
