Work is ongoing at the station’s studios, which is located in the same building as Asaase Radio 99.5 at NO. 7 5th Circular Road, Cantonments, Accra.

People familiar with the arrangement tell enewsgh.com that the media group’s handlers are pushing through to meet their set launch month of October.

Should they go live in October, they will become the 147th television outfit in Ghana duly licensed by the National Communications Authority (NCA).

As of the second quarter of this year, 146 television stations/operators had been licensed by the NCA. Of the number, 102 are on air while 44 are yet to start operations. The number is also exclusive of some stations, who are carried by Satellite Television Broadcasting (Free-to-Air Direct-to-Home) operators.

It is going to be a busy quarter at ABC Radio Ltd. On Wednesday, we reported that the group is ready to go live with Asaase 98.5 FM in Kumasi.

The Kumasi addition to the portfolio sits with its plans of having a competitive commercial presence nationwide.

The Asaase brand name will be maintained in all the regions they intend to operate in, a model that is also being used by some other media groups such as Angel (ABN Ghana) and Kingdom (Unique Kingdom Communication).
