The new station which will trade as ‘Sompa FM’ went live over the weekend in Kumasi.
Yes, as the name stands, ‘Sompa FM’ is located at Suame around Nurom Hotel. It will compete in the Twi speaking, mass market demographic space and as well promises to be Ashanti Region’s favourite radio station in the coming months.

The station we can say is rumoured to be owned by an unknown seasoned Ghanaian business mogul and has Collins Amo Poku as the Managing Director (M.D) of the media conglomerates.
Tofiakwa, as he is affectionately called, previously worked with Radio Mercury (New Mercury), Jet FM, Angel FM, Agyenkwa FM before joining Oyerepa FM/Oyerepa TV. Whilst at Agyenkwa FM, he was the General Manager of the Tobinco owned Kumasi-based station.
Mr. Collins Amo Poku is the sole originator of Mpanin Atenase and Anansekrom on Oyerepa FM and Oyerepa TV respectively. He is the host of ‘Fakye’ and head of events at Promise Media Group, owners of Oyerepa FM/TV.
