Information available to www.mediafillasgh.com has it that one of Africa’s fastest growing media group, Excellence in Broadcasting (EIB) Network is set to disengaged a number of outsourced staff at the media group in the coming weeks as it plans to cut costs at the the media group to ensure efficiency.
Deep throat source information close to this portal has it that the move will affect some lower ranked staff spread across its platforms all over the country.
The Excellence in Broadcasting (EIB) Network is one of the biggest media group, operating across all platforms. The media group operates Starr FM, Live FM (Accra) and Kasapa FM (Accra), Ultimate FM and Abusua FM (Kumasi), Agoo FM (Nkawkaw) and Empire FM (Takoradi).
EIB acquired a television licence for a free-to-air channel in 2014. It also operates GHOne TV and Agoo TV all in Accra. EIB’s online platforms are starrfmonline.com, kasapafmonline.com, livefmonline.com and ultimatefmonline.com.
The EIB Network also owns the Heritage Newspaper.
The Network also has under its umbrella the Empire Group of Companies, which comprises Empire Entertainment and Empire Records. EIB started off after the success of Empire Entertainment’s event arm. The founder and CEO of Empire Entertainment, Nathan Kwabena Adisi popularly known as Bola Ray – established his own radio station called Empire FM in Takoradi. Empire FM was later acquired by Kwabena Duffuor, which started the EIB Networks journey.
The media group has grown and continues grow becoming a strong force in mainstream broadcasting business in Ghana.
The CEO of EIB Network and Empire Group of Companies, Nathan Kwabena Anokye-Adisi aka Bola Ray who has over 15 years of experience in the media industry. Bola was voted as the second most influential young Ghanaian in 2015.
Dr. Kwabena Duffuor is the founder and owner of Excellence in the Broadcasting (EIB) Network. He was Ghana’s Minister of Finance from 2009 to 2013. As an economist, he worked for several national banks (Ghana Commercial Bank, Bank of Ghana) and is involved in a number of other companies as well (amongst them Star Assurance Company, State Gold Mining Corporation, Unibank Ghana Limited,etc).
