Ahwenepa FM, the new radio station owned by Prof. Ken Agyemang Attafuah, Executive Secretary of National Identification Authority (NIA) , has been officially been launched.
A ceremony to formally open its doors to the business world was held at its premises at Juaso in the Asante Akim South Municipality this morning.
Attended by close associates, media owners, radio industry players and top dignitaries such as the Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Board Chair of National Sports Authority, Kwadwo Baah Agyemang, CEO of Accra Digital Centre, Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, MCE of Asante Akim North, Francis Oti Boateng, MCE of Asante Akim Central, Mrs. Susan Akomeah, MCE of Asante Akim South, Alexander Frimpong and Member of Parliament for the Asante Akim South Constituency, Kwaku Asante Boateng as well as the chiefs and traditional leaders of Juaso.
The station’s management also used the opportunity to unveil some of the names it’s managed to acquire for the roll out. Some of these popular names joining are Virgin City Radio duo, Mark Opoku Amoah (Barimaba Kwasi Poku) and sports presnter Anim Foster (Bazooka) as well of Kings Radio’s sports icon Andy Kofi Amponsah (Andy De God Father).

The station will compete in the Twi-speaking, mass market demographic.
The event was moderated by Oheneba Appiah Kubi, whom this website had long said he was joining as the host of the station’s flagship morning show.
The station has promised an exciting delivery of programmes as it officially begins real programming Monday, April 5, 2021.
