DJ Candy Man Celebrates 24 Years on Radio

Alex Kwaku Amoah, aka DJ Candy Man, one of Ghana’s celebrated disc jockeys with Accra-based Asaase Radio will today celebrate his 24 years on radio with a cocktail party to entertain friends and cherished listeners.

The celebration which has been kept secret to the industry players understandably to be a get-together for sincere friends and colleagues.

Some selected friends will be from Asaase Radio will be there to thrill invited guest and friends with great tunes. There will be performances from some of the finest country’s artistes.

The party is scheduled to take place at his residence, promises to be very exciting. It will also serve as a network and socialisation platform to bring together his friends and listeners.

Candy Man is a powerful force on radio who likes to be referred to as Music Man because he is an entertainer as well as a radio host.

For the past 22 years, the presenter, who has won the hearts of many radio listeners in Accra and Kumasi with his creative style of play and presentation, has worked diligently as a radio broadcaster.

“It has not been an easy journey, 24 years in the radio industry, he expressed thanks and gratitude to God for His protection and Guidance in the course of his career as DJ and a broadcaster,” he told BEATWAVES in a chat.

According to him, “Anytime I am on air, I keep listeners enthralled and entertained throughout my show. I always try to create something new anytime I am on radio to satisfy my listeners.”

“I am thanking God for how far He has brought me and I am very grateful to him. I thank my friends who have been there for me all this while. I never had it easy when I started,” he added.

Former Atinka FM’s drive time host, who has worked with a numbers of radio stations such as Radio Lynk 99.5 – Kumasi Polytechnic campus radio, Shalom radio 100.3 – Brekum, Fox FM 97.9 – Kumasi, Hello FM 102.1 – Kumasi and Rainbow radio 87.5 – Accra.

DJ Candy Man has over the years proved to be one of Ghana’s untouchable talents and has played in a number of night clubs.

In his entire radio career, spanning over two decades, Candy Man has train many radio presenters and DJ’s who are making a lot of impact on the music scene.
