Gifty Andoh Appiah Leaves Joy News’ ‘The Pulse’

The host of Joy News’ late afternoon news and current affairs analysis show, ‘The Pulse’, Gifty Andoh Appiah has left programme on channel under the Multimedia Group.

Gifty who has hosted the show for six years took to her Facebook page to announce her departure from the show.

She posted:


In her 9 years and 1 month of service to MGL, Gifty has held various positions in the JOYNEWS newsroom. From Deputy News Editor, Head of the Security Desk, Presidential Affairs Correspondent, Senior Multimedia Journalist and News Anchor.

She also won various awards for her journalist works including; 2019 SGI Border Security ReporterCNN African Journalist of the Year, 2013 (TV News Category)Ghana Journalists Association’s Rural Reporter of the year, 2013 Sanitation and Hygiene Reporter of the year 2014 (Joint Award) as well as African Facts checking award 2014 (Joint Award).

Gifty holds a Master’s degree in Media and Development from the University of Westminster.

It’s still unclear as to what necessitated this decision.

However, Aisha Ibrahim takes over as the new host of the Pulse.

It’s unknown and unclear as to where her next destination would be or whether she is entirely leaving the media conglomerate.
