Tobinco’s Agyenkwa FM Suspends All Programs!

All programs on Kumasi-based Agyenkwa FM have been suspended effective Monday, February 4 and that all programs and on-air activities on local radio station will come to a halt upon orders from management, this website can confirm.

According to reports from within the organisation, workers at the media house have been asked to temporary suspend their programs as management tries to restructure and solve some of the challenges facing the media house.

Even though the station did not give a concrete reason for the suspension of its programs, we are reliably informed that decision was taken due to some financial challenges faced by the station. has also learned that the station which is subsidiary of the Atinka Media Village has planned to lay off some of its workers to kick start a new test transmission for a period of 3 months as the station plans to embark on an intensive rebranding campaign.

Close source reports available to this portal claims that management has also planned to relocate the station from its present base at Asafo Y.F (Dadiesoaba) to the Tobinco House at Suame.

This development was communicated to workers of the Kumasi-based radio station Thursday after a crunch meeting with Management of the media group led by the General Manager Albert Kwabena Dwumfour.

Agyenkwa 101.9FM operates under the Atinka Media Village is owned by successful businessman Samuel Amo Tobin of pharmaceutical giants Tobinco Pharmaceutical Services.

Atinka Media Village also operates four other brands: Atinka FM (Accra), Ahotor FM (Takoradi), Atinkaonline and Atinka TV (Accra).
